Quoted: A USA Today story yesterday mentioned that Kerry would have to consider raising the highest marginal income tax rate to 50% (!) to fulfill his deficit reduction promise.
You know all those liberals who say "I'm moving out of the country if Bush wins?" Well, this is the type of thing that would make ME go. No way I'm giving half my income to the feddle gubmint.

Where exactly are you going to go that is more free than the U.S.?
|
I'm not going anywhere, I'll stand and fight right here. BUT,
There are many places that are quite a bit more "free" than the US, depending on your definition of course, what do you want to be free to do?
Tax rates are quite a bit lower in Eurasia, from Russia 10% flat tax on what little is above ground, to the former satellites into Asia itself. The average Asian outside of Japan and red China is astonished at the rules and regulations in the US, there's very little in the way of business regulation, permits, or even traffic laws in say Thailand or the Philipines, you don't get ticketed for not wearing your seatbelt in Vietnam.
There are places in Africa and South America where there really is no government, of course there's no civilization either but that's beside the point.
Full auto and aparently RPGs as well are available cash and carry throughout the middle east.
In some of the central american states, Belize comes to mind, the rules are negotiable depending on how much money you're bringing into the country, there are places where they'll wave all taxation for a decade or give you very low rates forever if you're willing to hire a few citizens.
Argentina has it's advantages too, particularly for a man of moderate means who wants to try some gentleman farming.
How free can you afford to be?
