Before I got to the solution post, my first thought was a bunch of Russian snipers, except for the shoes.
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 1:10:48 PM EDT
russian women used to fight in ww2. so it could be a dressed up pick of the local squad.

I thought it was the prequel to "The walking Dead".

Good one.

The big D on the sweater of the girl on the left had me thinking "university women's rifle team" but I'd have thought someplace farther north based on the clothing.

Duquesne University was the first thing that came to mind, then Dartmouth.

Was this taken during a time when kitchens were outdoors? Obviously they are trying to figure out why those brooms aren't working..

They represent women with whom you had better use the words 'please' and 'ma'am' when you want a sammich.

They sure as hell weren't contestants in the Miss America pageant, that is for damn sure. The one on the far left even looks more like a dude than a woman.

The founding members of NAGs....National Association of Gals. That Gloria Steinman at the far right.

I got a feeling these gals would win though if the two schools competed.

1925. "Girls' rifle team, University of Maryland."

I don't know what school these women represented but I suspect they were from the same school as the two pictures were taken at the same place.

In the '20s, you'd have been just as unwashed looking and would have had a similar deadpan look if you were drug out into the cold for a photo shoot. And yes, you'd have hit that...

You're right. Looking at the backgrounds they appear to be taken at the same spot. I didn't notice that.

I wonder who did win?
