I thought you were going back to Quantico after you healed up...did you end up switching to active Army or National Guard? Either way, congrats man!

Keep in mind that if you say "I have an idea" your NCOs will cringe.

ETA: Until you show them that you have good ideas, and not average new lieutenant ideas.  Not a bash, I'm just saying that new lieutenants could often benefit from listening to their NCOs more.

I was originally going intel... but I'm going all out. I want to try (in my opinion) the hardest, most rewarding job and look back with no regrets. Plus I figure it's like camping with machine guns most of the time, right?

Thanks again for the kind words guys. Wife and kids are holding up okay, I miss them though. We'll be able to live together for a few months soon, but my wife was pretty pissed to hear that I wouldn't be coming home at night during Ranger school. I still don't think she quite understand what Ranger school it. I wish I could see them everyday though. My son is growing up into a royal terror, just like his dad. My daughter is getting so big I don't even recognize her.
Here they are as superman and nemo for halloween.

Yeah I didn't go back to Quantico. After being sent home literally less than a week before graduation after having ACED everything they threw at me it kind of left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I still have love for the Marine Corps... but I would rather go through an additional 6 months of Army training and give up a flight contract with the Marines then go back there. I kind of treated that as a barometer for how they treat their people. Some guy here got heat stroke and collapsed with a 106 degree temp after an 8 mile run. Since he finished the run and was doing well on everything else, they retained him, and if he heals up he will join a later class. The Marines... it's hey man, go home with no pay and try and get your old job back, then come back when we tell you to. As much as I want to stab bad guys in the face, I've also got to think about my family.

Anyways. Enough of my bitching. When you're as kickass as I am, you can draw rainbows and sunshine on your M249 and nobody will say SHIT!
