It is pretty damn dry up here on the front range of CO.  The elevation at my house is around 7400 feet.  Is it necessary to store ammo in ammo cans with dessicant, or does the low humidity environment preclude this?

store it with all the precautions you can.  Elevation is no guarantee.  My Grandfather had ammo get nasty and he lived in Prescott, AZ.

Unless you live near the Dead Sea or the Pyramids you may want to can it, the ammo.
