IIRC, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus complained about that last year.

Ha.
Reminds me of the time me and the wife were in the checkout line at the grocery store. The girl at the register had on a name tag that read "Latrine". We both double checked the spelling and just stood there wondering if in all of her 18 or 20 years anyone had ever bothered to inform her that she'd been named after the shithouse.

Most hurricanes develop off the African coast.  Isn't that good enough?  Is this Africa's way of punishing us for years of slavery?

Maybe her parents had been watching TOP SECRET right before the wife went into labor.

Prince John: Such an unusual name, "Latrine." How did your family come by it?
Latrine: We changed it in the 9th century.
Prince John: You mean you changed it TO "Latrine"?
Latrine: Yeah. Used to be "Shithouse."
Prince John: It's a good change. That's a good change!

I former acquanitance (when I lived in Louisiana) had a wife who was a school teacher.  He said she had a little girl in her class whose name was on the roster as "Female."

She thought it was an administrative error, so she called the mother, who explained that the girl's name was "Female" (feh-mah-lay) because that was what the doctor put on the birth certificate.

It was Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas).  She complained about hurricane names being too "lilly white", demanding that storms be given names that sound "black."

Because those names are as fake as plastic dogshit. They're the ones that decided they didn't want "white" names. Ridiculous.

Hell, why not give them a few "black" names.  I would love to see some of the weathermen try to pronounce a hurricane with "clicks" in the name.

Think of the outrage when the news sources kept citing that Hurricane Black-Name caused so much destruction, etc etc. You can't win.

Are you kidding?

Instead of "Hurricane X" trashed the coastal region", the media will downplay the devestation to avoid lawsuits from Jesse Jackson.
