I don't think out 10-day period is for the Brady shit, it's just to prevent you from buying a new gun and shooting someone with it right there, because, ya know, the other ones you have aren't dangerous anymore.
It used to be 20 or 30 days, too  Nice looking rifle, just wait until the .308 bug hits you, then you'll be asking about CA-legal M14s, FALs, G3s, etc.....
