Does it go bad after it's been opened. The reason I'm asking is because I have a bottle in my cabinet that I opened about 5 years ago and am wondering if it's still good or should I throw it away. I'm a little afraid to taste it.

I had a bottle that lasted me 6-7 years, would use it as an ice cream topping.

Other than having a hard time opening the bottle as the sugar all solidified around the cap, I suffered no ill effects.

Yep.  Higher percentages of alcohol will kill the crap out of anything that tries to grow in it.  I don't know the exact percentage, but Kahlua is well above it.  I have a fifteen year old bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, sitting at room temperature the entire time, that is still good.

That is interesting because I also have 2 bottles of open Bailey's in the same cabinet and they don't taste right at all. The guy at the liquor store said that Bailey's will go bad at room temp over time because of the cream in it. It taste bad enough that I won't drink it.
