| I have been receiving automated calls indicating there is Federal "case" against me and requesting I call them with my case number. I am sure I can pay them to settle the case. I hate these people. Do people really beleive federal agents contact you via automated message? |

I got one of those voicemails once. Listened to it and was pissed that now I'm going to go to jail, because I'm sure that the IRS leaves messages in Indian accents that end with "If you have not retained legal counsel, then I can only say 'good luck.'"
Got a call back from the same number three hours later. Answered it "US Department of the Treasury, Office of the Inspector General." *click* from the other end. Now I only get calls from Windows Support. I try to keep them on the line for as long as possible not understanding their instructions (I follow them to the letter, but I run Ubuntu so nothing they tell me to do works) but I get yelled at a lot for "making the smart ass." And I have a question: is it racist if I tell one of them "You people are proof that anal sex causes pregnancy when Pakistanis do it" if I don't have anything against either Indians or Pakistanis, but I know the two groups hate each other and just want to piss someone off? I mean, I really need a ruling on that last part. I'd hate for total strangers to think that I'm a racist. |
