So why am I getting the shits?  I started taking some protein suppliments 10 minunts after workout to build mussle.  About one hour later I get nasty shits.  Any idea how long this will last?

Keep hydrating...when you think you're hydrated enough...hydrate some more.  And then hydrate after you've hydrated the hell out of yourself.

You'll feel better.

sounds like you got a bad batch.

throw it out and get a new one.

you will stop shitting when your body thinks it's ok to stop.
usually 24 hrs.

The stuff I am taking is vanalla flavored mix from GNC.  I am only on day 2 so maybe I'll be used to it soon.

That is how they help you lose weight by making you crap quicker and the fat etc. doesn't absorb into your system!

Again, I miss my exit and end up on the "too much information super highway".  

I find that happens to me a lot on Arfcom.  

Arfcom must be a spaghetti bowl intersection for the too much information super highway.

Um, are you taking too much protein at once? Remember, the body can roughly assimilate 40 grams of protein per hour (even that may be pushing it). Additionally, are you eating anything else w/ that protein (say a carbohydrates, maybe)?

I take after a work out so no food in about 2 hours.  I only take 20 grams at once.  It was less bad today, mostly just upset stomach.  No cramps.  I'll prolly be fine tomorrow!

2 things.

1) quality, GNC is the Kmart of the supplement world, too bad its way overpriced.

2) taking the protein too quick on that empty stomach. within 15 minutes of the workout, you need to Glucose your system. 8-10ozs of a 'glucose' to keep the acid from creeping back into the muscles. The protein intake is at the minimum 1 hr mark after the workout is finished. The protein window doesn't open till the 1 hr mark, then after that it only opens on 3 minute intervals.

Heck I need to drink water whenever I see SigZiggy.  I lose a lot of fluid when I drool.

Don't use the cheap shit, and don't take it after you work out - use a recovery drink instead. It will have some protein, but not too much. Try Muscle Milk for a protein supplement, never had a problem, others have made me feel ill. Take it in the morning and evening with your meals. YMMV
