I normally run the SETI software on my laptop, but since my new wireless router at home can support four machines, I set up my old desktop (Pentium III) to run SETI software full-time. I think having a computer dedicated to nothing but SETI qualifies me for the small number of people that truly deserve the label "nerd"

Is there a support group for us, or is all hope lost?

[:D]

P.S.: Anyone who hasn't already downloaded the SETI software, do it - and join the ar15.com group!

I run distributed.net RC5 one on the background.
Where do I get this SETI software?

There's an older thread with lots of info in it around here somewhere:

don't bother getting the Seti software, the project is getting axed in favor of a different approach.

The plan is to take all top end systems running seti and send them to me.  If you want to get ahead of the program and avoid any waiting you can PM me and I will give you the shipping info.

Let's see.... Home network...  P3 650 running Seti....  P3 500 running Seti...  Celeron 400 Laptop running Seti...  AMD K6 233 running Seti...  and company laptop running Seti when it's actually on.  I think I qualify.  Between 2 accounts I have over 2300 returns.  Not many, but it's not much firepower I'm using either.

I used the have that SETI program running too.  I had it first installed when my computer had 64MB RAM and a 300 mhz AMD CPU.  It was cool to see how much more quickly my computer processd SETI's data when I upgraded to 512 MB of RAM and a 1 ghz CPU.
