Just had a guy call me about my tec 9. One of the first things he asked was, What year is it? "Preban, it has a threaded barrel" Is it full Auto? "no, it is semi auto". Then he asked, How easily can it be converted to full auto? "I dont know, I never looked into it" What is the rate of fire? " It is semi auto, as fast as you can pull the trigger"....He asked about registering it, and some other odd type questions. Something was just kinda weird about the whole phone call. I want to sell it, but hope he does not call back.

Hey how much you selling that for? Been looking for a Tec9 myself. Simple reason is cause I couldn't have one when I live in CA.

I hate to admit it but I have a cousin down south who "volunteers" for the local Democratic party who's "job" it is to gather data on how "easy" it is to buy illegal guns etc.
I really really hate him, but this sounds just like his m.o.
Avoid this person at all costs. Get as much personal info on him as possible, he will back off when you tell him he needs to fill out appropriate paperwork for the purchase.
Damn him, I'm gonna call my aunt up and yell at her to tell him to get a real life!
Sorry dude. Just avoid these people and keep things above board with your transactions, that is the only way to get them to back off.

I had a friend who was selling his Tec-9 and got the same type of phone call. They asked him all the same questions. I say stay as far from him as you can, they may just be looking for you to talk yourself into prison.

I used to advertise guns for sale in the newspaper. One time a guy wanted to trade me a wood burning stove for one. I knew he had to be a loon. [:)] Who would even consider such a goofy trade!

I agree.
You don't have to sell it. If somebody walked into the gunstore and asked these questions, they would be asked to leave. Yes, there are ways to convert almost every semi to full, but that is inappropriate. Ask him all about himself and he will probably make like an oyster and clam up. Helping people with questions is one thing, getting fined or put in jail by the buttholes that think they can trap you. Good luck,

Got the guys name and number of the Caller ID, If he calls back I am going to say it was sold.
Alarm bells were ringing in my head when I was on the phone with him. The more I think about it, the more I dont like it, I am not continueing the add, just going to take my toys to the next gunshow this weekend.

It is a preban DC9 mini. I have 1 S.S. 20 rnd Mag, 2 32rnd "blued" mags, 2 50rnd mags, original instructions and plastic case. It is the Tec-Kote coating on it. I have been asking between $550 and $600. Figure I have $100 in extra mags, I also have not seen a TEC 9 in this coating since I bought it. I think my price is reasonable, what do yall think. Here is a picture. OH, yeah, the open bolt mac11 is not for sale.

It was probaly some moron that has seen to many movies on TV thinking that the TEC-9 is a machine pistol. I was at a gun shop and this guy was looking at an AK and he asked the owner if he knew how to modify it to shoot full auto. The owners asked "Full auto what?". The guy asked how hard was it to buy this machine gun? The owner said first its a rifle not a machine gun second you fill out the paper work and I call your background check in and you could leave the store with. When the guy heard background he all of sudden became un interested.

I would take the number from the caller ID and use a reverse phone number look up to see if you can find out who it was that called.

A couple of years before the terrible '94 AW Ban, I offered for sale 2 AR-15s, a Norinco bottom-folder AK-47, a SPAS 12, a TECH-9, a Calico M-100, and a Mossberg 500 Bullpup. I had a couple of "friends-of-friends-of-friends" come to look at them. The rest of this story may be coincidental, I don't know. I lived near the end of a dead-end street in town at the time. Right past my house the road ended in a loop. I had black plastic over my windows to keep it dark, as I slept during the day. Well, I happened to peek out my window around noon one day to see a FEDEX truck parked on the loop, facing in my direction. The driver's mouth was moving every so often. Two scenerios:

1. He was a FEDEX employee choosing a remote spot for a lunchbreak and was singing along to the radio. Or,

2. He was on surveillance and was speaking to someone in the rear of the van.

I said,"I see you.." just in case he had a parabolic microphone and went about my business. Later, when I looked out he was gone. I never heard anymore about it.

First of all this is how you answer a d ck like that. Sir let me have you phone number. Name and other info in the begining of conversation. Then when you get as much as you can you tell him what he is proposing to do is illegal and you do not want to have anything to do with it. I have your info on file and I will only sell this firearm in compliance to all laws. I am Actually thinking of keeping it, since my phone call. I would love to find a barrel extension for it, but dont see to many extras for it in the same coating, everything I see is blued, occasionaly i see some parts in SS, but never in the tec-kote.

Ah, a preban Tec-9 mini in stainless. Not too many of those are floating around.

As for that phone call, if the moron calls back again-- "it's been sold."

Now the moron knows it's no longer for sale and is not in your home.

Hit the gun show. But, i think you may have better luck asking $400-$500. But, if you can get what you're asking, more power to you.

As was explained in the book "Unintended Cosequences", any moron who would ask you questions like that does not deserve a civil reply.

You have a moral obligation to not sell firearms to morons. With this country going to hell in a handbasket more and more on a daily basis, there are fewer and fewer people that are worthy (or so it seems).

I've got a gun that is just like that tech-9 stainless, but mine is not threaded, how much you think it is worth(has 32rd mag, I believe it is an AB10)
