Prequel confirmed Francis Lawrence confirmed that there will be a prequel and that Will Smith will be reprising his role. He stated that this movie would reveal what happens to Neville before the infected take over New York. D. B. Weiss has been recruited to write the script, while Lawrence would direct "if we figure out the story." Smith stated the film would have Neville and his team going from New York City to Washington, D.C. and back again, as they made their last stand. The film will again explore the premise of what it's like to be alone, as Lawrence explained, ". . . the tough thing is, how do we do that again and in a different way?" The film is slated for release in 2011. It has been confirmed that the title of the prequel is "I Am Legend: Awakening." |

Never understood why he didn't shoot at them more from his balcony instead of heading back in.

Very cool.
One of my favorite movies. Love the German Shepherd Dog. Fight scene where the mutant dogs attacked was great. A prequel would be VERY dark though. It would basically be him fighting until he was the only one left alive (and his dog). That means that every single character is going to die and there would be no happy ending, which really would be a lot closer to the book which does not really end well. |

I try not to think about this movie in relation to the book cause well....it only upsets me. but this prequel sounds more interesting. |

I was Incredibly pissed that they didn't stay true to the book. Now if they were to give justice to The book like the Coen Brother's gave justice to No Country For Old Men, it would of been one of the most epic movies of all time. |

this movie has serious potential...
why cant Hollywood ever make a movie that does not have a happy ending? it seems like every movie that is made, has a ending where the care bears dance, sing, and hug. despite how bleak it may have appeared 5inutes prior. the ending is always the same, despite the movie. |

Actually, I can't take much more doom and gloom. I get enough of that from reality. It disturbs me more than it used to when I see accurate representations of real possibilities to come (not zombies but the fall of our civilization). I could use a good "happy ending" as long as it was also realistic. I guess I worry too much. |
