It's even more messed up when you realize they're all stuck in a casual loop. The original John Connor who led humanity to victory over the machines couldn't possibly be related to Reese because the original Skynet couldn't send a T800 back to 1984 in an act of desperation. Which means John's father could have been just about anyone, but Reese interjected himself and got the whole timeline and alternate timelines stuck in a weird grandfather paradox.

Lance Henriksen was too (but you could argue he wasn't "killed" by an alien because he was a synthetic human).

She was hotter in T2.

He wasn't completely killed.  Just severely damaged.

Also, IIRC, he was originally considered for the role of the Terminator.
They wanted someone who looked "average", that could blend into society better.
Then Arnie came along and rest is history.

As far as I'm concerned, it all ended with T2.  The rest of them were awful and were a move away from the atmosphere/aesthetics of the first 2.  They lost their grittiness and raw feel, and turned into modern Hollywood garbage.

Saw it with the GF in 84 when it first came out. That’s a surprisingly useful line.

From what I understand Ah-nuld originally auditioned for the part of Kyle Reese

There was also a deleted scene where two human resistance members were sent back to the past, but one of them was going to end up fused into a fire escape

Actually, he was killed in alien vs predator. That character was the basis for Bishop in the future, something he had to do with research in AI if I remember correctly.

I watched it again recently--she really put herself into the love scene with Reese.  She was quite the kisser.

I feel better about my decision to not watch any Terminator material after T2.

I felt the "dark road" ending was perfect and didn't want to upset it.

You're making a good choice, trust me.  It would've been awesome if the stuff after the 2nd built on the same style, but it is what it is.  Still two of my all time favorites.

That scene in the Tech Noir club is one of my favorites in movies. It's on YouTube.

It's got so many Hollywood things in it, it's great. Reese racking the shotgun in slow mo, Arnold's laser site even though he's a fucking robot, an Uzi with bottomless magazine, car chase with squealing tires  in every second of it.

That would make a great poster in my reloading room (especially if I could photoshop out the cig).

Somebody on page 2 mentioned aviator sunglasses.

I think what she wore in the movie  was like dome custom locomotive engineer glasses….almost like goggles.

I think I tried looking for some Django Unchained / White Buffalo glasses, and the Linda Hamilton Terminator 2 “goggles” kept popping up.

FAKE EDIT:  the sunglasses were Matsuda 2809’s. Matsuda introduced the 2809H in 2021.  They are handmade in Japan with about a $1,500 price tag.
