I’ve had good results by using my nifty 50 lens with some macro tube adapters. It’s kind of like cheating, but it’s cheaper than a new lens.

You want the longest one you can afford, and the 105 is a good compromise. The D lens is still a great lens and some say it's better than the newer G.

That's the exact lens I'm talking about, although I don't agree with giving that hack a click for it.

I really enjoy mine.

Hmmmmm........hack?    He seems to have a lot of info.    I must not know the inside story here.

Regardless, thanks for getting me going in the right direction!!!!

Ken has been known to review lenses he’s never had. And he thinks raw is for chumps and in-camera jpg conversion/color correction is fine for production work.

His website is good for looking at pictures of gear but he’s a hack as Zack said.

I actually found kens site helpful, whatever.  But,  I have had the original 60 micronikor af for many years and have found it great, but I wish I had the longer lens.
I’ve taken some incredible pictures of bee’s loaded up with pollen that zoomed in look incredible but wish I could be more full framed.  This is using a D7200
