How will CENTCOM deal with the fake surrender and executions of US POWs? Will they issue a change to the ROE? How would you deal with it if you we CINC CENTCOM? |

As the United States has always dealt with it - by continuing to be the good guys. As sad as that may be, we simply cannot let Saddam make us into what he already is - a murdering bastard, destined for Hell and the dungheap of history. In view of these fake surrender-scenarios, any future Iraqi surrenders should be handled with a whole lot more caution. We want them to surrender, we want them to give up easily, and anything that discourages that will make our troops' job more dangerous. I fear that earlier Iraqi surrenders, and the memories of wholesale surrenders in GulfWarI, gave a false sense of security in dealing with these folks. That has now ended, and I think each new Iraqi surrender will be handled with at least as much caution as a felony stop on an Interstate in Tennessee. This time, however, I don't mind if they shoot the family dog. Naw, that's not true, I still care for their dogs. Eric The(Cautious)Hun[>]:)] |
