The events in England got me thinking....
How stable is your current AO? I'm not talking about yute to youth ratio here, but IF the poop hits the fan, how long before "flash mob riots" are the norm where you are? I moved out to the wild west from DC twenty+ years ago, and feel I bought a few weeks/months before it all goes down the shitter. Edit: New question: Sounds like a lot of people responding are in rural areas with folks that won't stand for this crap. So, what is the stance of your local LE? Do they feel the same way? Will they support the "good folks" if it comes down to it? |

South Louisiana.
Look at the demographics and draw your own conclusions. |
Knoxville, Tenn isn't too bad. It was kind of tense when the "misguided yoots" carjacked and murdered Channon Christian and Chris Newsom.
We have a few that think they are "gangsters" but they scurry back in their holes when confronted. |
75% of the country (population wise) has to go to shit before it would affect me, I believe
I really doubt my area would see any real chaos. That is, not unless we get a wave of NYC folk.
In my area you're more likely to see muzzle flash than a flash mob.
Cow and chicken riots I can quell, but if the hogs riot its their ballgame because I really hate how they smell.
Fort Worth, there are guns everywhere. I don't see the mobs having much luck in these parts.

Miss a welfare payout and I'm poppin' covers. |

Ami........ahhhhh "misguided young people" don't really factor into the question. Youts will be youts. Some areas will have a more lopsided ration than other obviously.
This really isn't a "what have you done to prep" question...when it "goes down" whose gonna use the 5k of XM193 they bought back in the day...really? What I'm getting at is: Do you feel where you live will be an instant shit hole like NOLA, or do you think that your community will pull together and do the right thing? Is guess the yout to youth ration does apply. There is no way around it. Quoted:

Dallas.
Has its shitty areas, and localized ghettos. Not likely where I am. |
Well, I'm in a blue collar area in unincorporated Jefferson County. There are retired mil plates, boats, RVs, ATVs, motorcycles, and pickup trucks everywhere.
4th of July starts approximately on June 1 and goes until about Aug 1. Volatile is not the first word that comes to mind. Fucking Awesome is. |

Where I live, not much of a chance of seeing any kind of mob. Where I work? It is possible, on the remote outside, but possible. IF something like that were to occur where I work, most of us on this site wouldn't even need to break into the "emergency stash" of ammo to put the riot down. I work in a farming community with a small city, any uprising would find a very hostile, very well armed opposition within minutes.

Richmond, VA area. Maybe riots in downtown areas, or if they use social media to head to the West End/Short Pump area (think lots of upscale malls/shopping) for some looting, but not out in the rural area where I live.
I would be fine here most likely, but I would not be crossing the bridge into Louisville for a while.
MEMPHIS MOTHERFUCKING TENNESSEE.
Think DC or Detroit, but with more guns. |
I live south of a town that has county public housing projects and a poor town to the south of me.
And I live 30 minutes south of Chicago, but not south enough where this stuff wouldn't affect me at some point. |

Richmond, VA area. My folks live just south of PG county. I worry about them some times. |
Quoted: Ain't Colorado great? Hey Cali......We're closed. Hell yeah, it's great! |

About a 15 minute drive from where I currently sit... You have a whole 'nother level of SHTF to worry about.....I feel for you folks down there. |

I am on the northern fringe of Fort Worth and the suburbs should be safe at least long enough for us to leave. Jim |

Right now it's ok, but don't doubt it could go from 0-shit storm in no time.

In answer to your question...got room for one more? What you gonna bring to the table.....we might open the gate ONE more time. I hate the East coast with a passion.....get out while you still can. |

I'll be fine unless the moose and squirrels decide to riot, too.

I'm working around Carrizo Springs Texas. Right now, I'm living on location about 5 miles from El Indio, texas. Google map that.
I don't think I've got to worry about flash mobs and shit, but we're fighting our own little battle down here. We've had people go missing, trucks stolen, trailers broken into, and all kinds of shit stolen. I've had Border Patrol on location 3 times inthe last week. Twice becasue I called them, and once because they saw somehting from the air. It's like the wild west out here. This shit's getting bad, and no one is paying attention to it, except those of us who are here and have to deal with it. |

Nothing around here but corn, beans and livestock for as far as the eye can see.
Quoted: Not particularly worried. Yeah, but you didn't think they'd print (inflate) pre QE1, QE2, and...are we going on 3 or 4? |
Small rural Midwest town. Nearest major city (Saint Louis) is over an hours drive away. Not very volatile I'd say.
Oh and even with a population of about 8,000 there are three major firearms and ammo retailers here in town. That should give you an idea of gun ownership rates here. A London style mob would last all of 5 minutes here. |

was in the middle of a flash mob/riot about 3 weeks ago, so not good
They won't get halfway to here.
I've got a lot of people far richer than I between here and the ghetto. They call out the national guard before the mansions burn. |

Another unconcerned resident of JeffCo checking in. I took my daughter to a TDK tournament in Auroa-stan......I didn't like it much. I told her .45 trumps her Black Belt. Mom was not amused. |

The cops would probably be mowing people down before I'd have to get involved.
I live in the sticks so I'm not particularly concerned about the gang-bangers from Birmingham driving out my way.
I'm more concerned about getting my parents out of harms way in the event that things go sideways in Bham. As it stands now Jefferson County is bankrupt and we have a large population of people that refuse to work for a living. My parents live within 2 miles of Birmingham in a nice community. |
