I've searched the help links which mention "buttons" not available in my profile.

Just want it deleted.

Right. You can't "delete" your avatar. There has to be an image there, so just find some image you like and upload that to replace your current one.

If you have a larger image that you are trying to make look "right" the image size is 80x60 and will automatically resize, so if you crop for it, say 800x600 you'll be good.

Also be mindful of the file size limit (like 10KB I think).
