I understand LED is the hot new thing.  I just bought Fenix's for stocking stuffers for everybody in the family.  But what do I do with all these Surefire 6P's and G2's I already own?  Is there an LED conversion kit for those, and if so, where is the best place to get it?
Thanks.

You can buy a new head or the LED assembly that just sticks in in place of the lamp assembly.  I talked to a guy who runs a pawn shop that sells Surefires locally, and he said there's a waiting list to get them from Surefire, though, and he's on it.

You can get the LED Surefire G2s for $65 or so at Lowes here.  I saw them and 6P LED ones in the impulse buy area when I was buying my dad a gift card last week.  What does a Fenix set you back?

Thanks.
Wow.  39 bucks a pop.  Almost not worth it -- just buy new Fenix's instead.

Exactly... That's why I got this:

www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1343

I placed it on my SureFire C2 with regular SF 123s and WOW, it was bright, had a decent thrown, worked for me.

I then replaced the SF 123s with R123s and for about 30 seconds it was even brighter, really nice, and then it went REALLY dim (I'm talking less than a maglite solitaire kind of bright here), and won't go bright anymore, it got stucked like that.

I checked the R123s for voltage, they were still 4.1 and tried with the original SF 123s and I got the same, even lower brightness.

Considering that the drop in is rated from 3.6 to 9V, I dunno what might have happened.

Will have to get a replacement and try it again I think, but it should work.

Talk to BrightFlashlights here on ARFCOM. Calvin is the go to guy when I comes to Surefires.
