I broke 250 last year now I rep that on the regular.
Haven't tried to max out if only because of fear of injury. I would think I could go above 300 without much difficultly. Yourself? |

My max is 285 about two weeks ago.
I just hit 275 for a triple two days ago. I have a bad shoulder from rotator cuff surgery years ago. I have been rehabbing it with hang therapy and external rotation strength work and it's really producing results in the last two months. I was dealing with lots of soreness and no gains and now it's really coming around. I have also gone to a slightly narrower grip (1.5x shoulder width at most), using some leg drive, and I'm really tucking my elbows and all of that is paying off. Mark Bell has some great videos on bench press technique. |

Glad someone got the reference. Although I feel old now |

I spent 30 yrs chasing non steroid 500 bench after injuries (motocycle accident(s), football injuries and over training injuries) at the age of 45 I got my 505 bench.
I do not recommend obsessive compulsive weight training other than moderate weights higher reps 3-4 X a week...stick to swimming, long distance walking, biking, and exercise classes. Flexibility, speed, endurance are every bit as important as strength...especially core strength. You want to see people with core strength flexibility, endurance, and speed you ought to spend time around the Amish farm community...they don't go to gyms and lift weights. -imo |
| No idea. I was repping 225 8x6x4 about 7 years ago. Go married and it has been a constant downward slide. Over the past 2 days I have dug a 2 1\2 foot deep by 22 foot long trench in my yard, by hand, for a french drain.... That was harder than any gym workout I have had. Hit every damn root in my yard. |

In 2011, 225 for 12 and 305 for 2. I benched 245 6x. I injured my right shoulder long ago and aggravated it and had to back off. I was back to 225x8 earlier this year, then in october wreck my road bike and the first impact was on my right shoulder, havent lifted above 135 since because the pain is bad if I do.
Think I'm going to end up having surgery this time dammit. Then it is really gonna go to shit. |

My best was 385 flat bench at 202 lbs body weigh eight or nine years ago. I hit 405 on decline a few different times.
Now, at 40 and after suffering some minor muscle injuries over the past few years, and a ruptured biceps tendon (from heavy preacher curls) several months ago, I'm just trying to say healthy. I don't go over 275 on flat bench, but I will do sets of 315 on decline for 4 or 5 reps, if I'm feeling good. My body weight is about 195 now. |

no idea...
at one point my max was around 225, that was decades ago though. these days, with some shoulder injuries going on i keep it light, max i would probably risk going is 150-175, and thats on a smith machine..i don't really have easy access to free weights. |
