I make $23 an hour sitting at a gravel pit surfing the net.  It's not one of the better paying part time gigs but I have a lot of freedom as to what hours I work.  If I get a callout I can leave and make up the hours another time, as long as I get 10 in a week they don't mind.

Oh and the lake is full of 5-6 pound largemouth bass, that makes it nice also ;)

ETA:  It's a 10-99 job, not cash :(

Depends.  City overtime or off duty work?

CO works out to about $50 an hour, more on holidays.  Off duty work can pretty much go anywhere. I've gotten $75 an hour for country concerts AND got to watch a bunch of hot women throw up.

I'm not LEO but I was talking to LEO neighbor.

He said he gets 30 to maybe 35 per hour for extra jobs.

Not bad cash, but I wonder what the regular (on duty) pay is?  How much do LEOs make?  Maybe 20/h?

We can only work through the dept.

So, 1 1/2 times our normal hourly rate, plus any assignment pay (for certain positions). The hourly rate for me would be $47 an hour.

$30 - $35 usually cash, three hour minimum, no more then 24 extra job hours in a 40 hour work week.

Seems like a good plan would to be a Reserve Officer and work 2 days a month for free for some Department just to keep your Police Officer status and work full time doing "side jobs" as a "Rent A Cop"

Well we are obviously the lowest paid for our off duty gigs posted so far.  Our minimum is $20 per hour with a 3 hour minimum.  It really sucks because it is lower than my hourly wage.  The main problem though is the Deputies at the county will underbid all of our jobs and work for peanuts so we can't do much about getting our minimum raised.

Most agencies won't allow reserves to work off duty in uniform. If that was the case-everyone would do it

Yeah but that would be a sweet gig if you could.

Through the Dept it's $35/hr with a two hour minimum.  Not City generated it runs from $30/hr to $45/hr based on the job and/or the Officer's connections.

The best gigs are still the courtesy officer position's at the apartment complexes.  There are still some 'rent free' complexes around where you take loud music calls in exchange for no rent.  That coupled with a part time job and look out.....

However, I play bagpipes at weddings, funerals, and a number of other functions. Last weekend, I was paid $16.66 a minute to play a wedding.
