Would it take for you to take a job in a commie state (California, New York, Illionois)?  Would you even consider a job offer there?  At what dollar amount would you consider money over guns? I'm kinda torn on the issue as I have a offer in California.

I fled that phucked up place.  It's oppressive and not the tolerant place they make themselves out to be.  The rich are fleeing to avoid the new voted-in increased income tax that was passed with the last election.  Dumb phucks.

Not going to happen. I won't even cross the NYS line in a vehicle.

Cali $425K/yr.  The others $30MM for a 2 year commitment.

I'd never to it permanently. Never.

Thinking long-term I might do it for a bit. If I could get a job where I could save up enough in a couple of years to come back to Missouri and pay cash for the house I have now but on 40 acres or so, I might do it.

If the pay were double what I make now I would move.

enough to have two homes one there and one in the US in a state that allows F/A because it would have to be enough for to afford a F/A.

If I could earn enough to retire (well off) in 5 years, with a large piece of property to retire on, then yeah, I would do that.

But that would be a hell of a lot of money.

If it was close to the NY/PA border and I could live in PA...I'd do it for a paltry $150k year with benefits and a healthy pension

It would take a lot.  Even moving back to San Diego, which is where I grew up and where many friends and all my family is still living would be hard.  When I was growing up in San Diego, CA was still a free state, now I don't think I could do it.  I miss it very much, but I think I miss the way it was and not the way it is now.  I can live much better and on less money in the state where I live now.  I'd need to make a few hundred thousand a year to move back there.

I make decent money now so it depends on the job.

You can always move back at a later date and bring the money with you.

My job skills are not worth the price it would take, and I currently make a hair over 6 figures now anyway.

Easily seven figures, and I would have to be near a border so I could keep residency in a free state.

If you are moving to CA from MI, your cost of living will be increasing exponentially.

I took a job in NY but live in Ct(slightly better than NY),the money is good but it is a trade off...Few more years and the wife and I head to a warmer Red State.

I do pretty good here in MI. I own my own business and enjoy what I do. A friend in CA has offered to partner me in his business. Granted his is a much larger scale, but I enjoy MI a lot. I actually enjoy all the seasons. I enjoy my hobbies and firearms. The more I think about it the more I realize I have answered my question. Money isn't everything.

im doing it for just shy of 50k a year....

then again i grew up in MA... moved to NJ after highschool then spent 2 years in florida.... oddly i really really hated florida... never owned more than fudd guns before moving to CA...

AZ is the 10 year or sooner plan...

I would do it for a million dollars annually.  I'd also keep my house is SC where I would store my weapons.  After my first two or three paychecks, I could pay off my SC home, and by the end of the year, my retirement account would look pretty damn nice.

The next year or two would be tough, but after 5 years...I'd be gone, back to SC...living off my saved money.

I was offered a job in Chicago. I asked if I could telecommute and as soon as I was told that wouldn't be possible I told them that I wasn't interested. I will not go to a place that treats me as a subject.

Only familiar with NY.

$300K would be my consideration point.  Go there for 10 years, live on $100K and bank the rest.

No amount could get me to move to one of those states.

I was offered a position with CAT in Peoria, I passed.  Offered a very lucrative position at an engineering firm in south Cali, I passed.  I just turned down a job offer with a large pay raise in Chicago. Michigan sucks but those places suck more.

enough that i could put at least $20K per year into savings.  a 5-year stint in CA would be quite doable with a M1A and my 1911, as long as i had an exit strategy.

now chicago, DC, or NYC?  it would need to be a very impressive offer.

Triple my salary and I'd move to a non-free-state for work. A 2x uplift for moving to CA, and 1x additional so that I'd be keeping my home here.

Don't do it unless you will get paid an insane amount of $$$. Not only does CA have bad gun laws, but the state itself is going bankrupt, taxes are soaring, and illegals are coming. nice weather though!
