....shot a full auto firearm???? I know this calls for an admission of guilt, of sorts, [:D] but I'm just curious. And why not??? No opportunity to rent one at a range? Soem kind of moral objection? Other?? I can truly say FEW actions have made me grin and chuckle as completely as when I've gotten to send lead down range en masse. You GOTTA do it, man!!!!

-HAND RAISED- It sucks to live outside of Free America ! [:(] In fact, I just went to buy a BB pistol so I could teach my nephew the basics. I was turned away and told that, in the EVIL State of Noo Joyzee, BB and pellet guns are considered firearms and that I would need a purchase permit to buy it. (3 month wait after applying to the local PD) You are one lucky guy Garandman !

yup! went to vegas for my best buddie's wedding. was on the ground for about, ohhhh...1 minute, and asked the cabby if it were true that there was a place that rents full autos. when i got to the room, my bags didn't even hit the floor before i was out hailing another cab to go to the gun shop. left the woman, and friends behind. they'd wanted to gamble instead of fire full autos!!!! needless to say over the weekend they lost almost $1500 at the tables, and i 'lost' $800 at the the full auto range. it was amazing!!! i can't believe it, they didn't go to the range once!!! the big wussies!! i was there by myself. it was the best vacation ever!!
Link Posted: 7/19/2002 8:29:09 AM EST
I rented an MP-5 once. Thirty minutes loading magazines, five minutes to empty them. Lotsa fun! Always wanted to try a Ma Deuce and an MG-42. I think sitting in a quad-50 mount while a s*^tstorm of rounds are going downrange would be a rush! So would a minigun.
Link Posted: 7/19/2002 8:31:55 AM EST
That would be me. I've always lived where full-auto is legal. But I don't know anyone who owns one and there are no rental places anywhere nearby.
Link Posted: 7/19/2002 8:34:00 AM EST
Never have. Would absufreakinlutely love to though. It seems that my state does not believe I am resposible enough to own or fire them here. Oh well, maybe someday I can borrow or rent one in another state.[50]

I guess I'm one of the luck ones. Mine was an M16A1 courtesy of my Uncle Sam, early 70's. Been shooting all I can every since, at least once or more a year.
Link Posted: 7/19/2002 8:37:28 AM EST
I have rented full autos at ranges a couple of times and once spent an entire day shooting MP5s at a HK subgun course. None of these were a big deal to me since I have shot plenty of full autos while in the US Army. There is an idea. Join the Army and shoot full autos not only for free, but they pay you to do it! Watch-Six

I absolutely agree ! You have to shoot Full Auto ! A buddy and I rented a 10-gun package of full auto weapons at The Armory in Scottsdale, AZ. You can check out the videos of it at members.cox.net/wbarnett12. I had so much fun with it that I recently purchased a Full Auto Vector UZI. Now I'm just waiting.......

never, unless you count the matchbook-modified ak47 i met at the range one day. wednesday is full-auto day at my range, but i have this stupid job on wednesdays...

Where do I start....... M16, M60, Thompson sub-45,H&K 93,91,MP5, Mac10,Mac11,Uzi,Ruger 10-22 full auto conversion, ...... I think that's it. Charlie

During my time in the Corps I had the opportunity to shoot many FA's. I carried the SAW 249 for awhile in my squad. Ma Deuce was always fun as well as the Mk 19. But I prefer the M2. Thousands of rounds of 5.56 through that SAW. At the time I did not appreciate it. Now I miss it like hell!
Link Posted: 7/19/2002 8:42:41 AM EST
Only M-16 and M-60
Link Posted: 7/19/2002 8:43:07 AM EST
Yep! Full-auto .50 BMG against a killer tomato while in the Nav! ENTIRELY too much fun! Still have a woody, and that was back in 1993! [:D]
Link Posted: 7/19/2002 8:43:29 AM EST
I was issued an m249 saw when they first came in and i was stuck with it for most of my brief 8 year career. I miss her.

What is this, a "Ha-Ha" you haven't shot full-auto thread. [:P] I personally haven't shot full auto, there's only a few ranges around that have and allow full auto. I don't have any friends that have full auto. Maybe I say this because I'm jealious but.... Full auto is such a novolity. I think it would be a cool thing for about a month and $1000 to $2000 of ammo, after that it's "coolness" factor would wear off. That and my women would had my ass after the bill!!

A ton while I was in, but haven't since (1992). I keep toying with getting a licence, but, even if i can override my strong aversion to govt. licencing/registration, I dont think I could afford enough ammo to justify it. Here's a question: money nonwithstanding, what would your preference be? Me? 1)M-60 (what I used to carry) 2)Thompson w/10" barrel 3)M-16A2 w/full auto (not 3 rnd. burst) 4)MP-5SD 5)MG-42 6)BAR 7)Vickers 8)Lewis 9)M-2 10)Stoner '63 (I think that's what it's called) And of course GE Minigun!! Starting with Army service M1918A2 BAR, and Ma Deuce (yes, I'm that old), and back when you could buy a legal Thompson for 59.95(plus transfer tax) From Ye Olde Hunter in Arlington VA, I owned an M1 model Thompson for over 20 years. Sold it about 1980 for $1000 and thought I'd struck pay dirt. Silly me. Have also fired M2 Carbine, UZI's and Galil's(in Israel),AK's, M16's, MAC10. Used to hang out w/folks here who were building the Ingrahms back in the '80s. Haven't fired any full auto in about 15 years tho. Be fun to do again.

Yup. Far better for entertainment than for combat, but not bad at either. When I was born, they were perfectly legal to acquire on both sides of the border, and at a reasonable price too. If I have my way, so will they be by the time I expire. Leave society at least as free as you found it.
