[ARCHIVED THREAD] - How do you dump cache?

I downloaded that stupid .mov about chicks getting their short hairs waxed and stupid QuickTime asked me if I wanted to save it to cache. I figured I would show the wife since it was kind of funny. Well, afterwards I figured my wife wouldn't be amused. But, now I have it in my cache..How do I dump my cache in XP?

In IE:

Tools/Options/General

Under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Files and check "Delete all Offline Content" and click OK.

You shouldn't be using IE though, start considering FireFox!

I do that about twice a week. I thought that was just for Temporary files though??? It doesn't get all the .tmp files either

Sometimes I have to go in and manually delete those..

you can dump some cash off on my lap!!!

yeah, use mozilla, use quicktime as little as possible, do NOT use real player.

you should get a program called TweakXP. You can tell it to get rid of shit like that and it knows every place to look.

1)My Computer
2)C:Drive
3)Windows Folder
4)Prefetch Folder
5)Select all and Delete

Prefetch is where video files can be stored by windows sort of "cookie"style.

Also Windows Media Player has a search feature. If you look under Tools there is a search for media feature. This will list where these files are, you can then use Explorer to find and delete the unwanted files.
