I'd go downstairs and get one of the other fifty or so. I could put a platoon in the woods long as they weren't too picky about caliber and such.

No Shit. That's my carry weapon as of right now.

Sorry for your loss.
Whats wrong with it or is it going for an upgrade of some kind?

She's going in for new night sights, new finish, front strap work, a trigger job, and maybe some extra cosmetic work.

My next dilemma: nice grips for it.

Pick up a Milspec Springfield for a back up. I love mine and they're relatively cheap.

Huh, I wonder if mine is lined up in front of or behind yours?

SOCOM-16. 2,500 approx rounds and suddenly cases started sticking in the chamber despite all sorts of different attempts to correct the problem.

2-4 weeks.

Picked up a FAL PARA when the problem started so I have a back-up 7.62x51 to
get my fix and cope with the temporary seperation.

Be sure to post a range report, please. I've been thinking of getting a .380 Keltec for my wife. I bought her a Makarov but it's too snappy for her and my Colt 1903 is just way too small of a caliber IMO.

I'm guessing everything works fine and it's all upgrade work.

Honestly I have tried most of the common aftermarket grips and found the stock loaded grips work fine for me.
If you are even thinking about the "Gunner" grips. let me tell you they are very aggressive and needles to say very hard on your hands.

I'm thinking some nice wood grips from Hogue.  Haven't decided which though.  I need something with a Magwell cut.
