This will give you the years.  If it is '94 you better call to make sure.  Of course, legally speaking, if it didn't have some banned item on it before the ban, it would still not be legal to add any prohibited items.  Legally speaking, of course.

Preban mini-14s won't hold your boat in place in a good wind.  Post bans will.

Every ruger is post-ban if you're boycotting them [:D]

As Ratters stated, If it did not have the
Evil features Prior to the ban then,
It is a Post Ban. Period.

Bill ruger started the 'bashing' process by selling out gun owners on high-cap magazines in order to save his beloved mini-14, and to hurt glock.

He can rot in hell for that.

Well I have a Mini-14 preban that I bought back in 88 and proceeded to add on all the evil features. I actually bought it cause it was so upgradeable. I had seen a friends fully decked out in 85 and knew I had to have one. It is a great little rifle regardless of what anybody else says. It's accuracy may be a little questionable at long distances but for close quarters is a real kick-ass rifle.

For you guys who bash Ruger because of their latest political orientation I'll submit this.  Ruger recently said that they never intended for the Mini-14 GB's or the high cap mags to get into the hands of civilians.  This is simply a ploy to look politically correct to the sheeple and press so that they can save their company.  My father remembers buying 20 and 30 round mags for $15 at the local sporting goods store in the mid 80's.  He thought that was high at the time.  Every time he sees one on a table for $80-$100 he kicks himself for not hording them.

If a Mini is all you've go, it's all you'll need.

I bought my first (and last?) Mini-14 about 21 months ago.  It was a Ranch Rifle so I promptly put a Leupold 3 x 9 Vari X II scope on it.  Brought it to the range and was pissed about it's 4 to 5 inch groups at 100 yards with match ammo.  So much for a coyote gun.  The only thing good about the rifle was that I could hit the 8" target off hand at 100 yards with open sights.  I figured it was a good battle gun.  Nothing more than that.  I sold the scope and stuck the rifle in the closet to let it rot.

Well, last Monday I did something good with it.  I traded it in on a Bushmaster A3 20" w/ the camo hardware.  I took a loss of $120 for the trade.  Well worth it I feel.  I took it to the range 2 days later and was shooting 3 to 4 inch groups with the open sights.  I'm not much of an open sight person.  I can't wait to put on a scope and try out some good ammo!

On the other hand, my buddy has 80's built Ranch Rifle that he has shot sub MOA with.
