Despite OVERWHELMING support, there has been a recent negative development regarding the Cold War Campaign Medal (see www.coldwarveterans.org).

Please take a read of the electronic petition, and if you support it, please lend your support.

A good article titled "The Truly Forgotten Veterans" Bringing Cold War Warriors in from Cold, is on line in the May issue of the Cold War Times (www.coldwar.org/text_files/may_2002.pdf).

Ah, the Cold War. The good old days when we knew who the bad guys were. As far as a medal, I'd settle for a National Defense Medal. I was on active duty during a time when they weren't being awarded. I was in the Guard during the Gulf War but we weren't awarded one either. I think they should be awarded to all members of the U.S. Armed forces during war and "peace".
