Having been out of college for awhile now, I worry about my mind getting a tad dull (since I am no longer in the classroom regularly). What do y'all do to stay sharp mentally? I am always researching whatever random thing pops into my head. I make a point of doing some basic math on a regular basis.

What do you guys do? Or are you all old farts who sit in the corner drooling?

I buy those puzzle books you see in the magazine racks at the grocery store sometimes.

Otherwise, my job is very technical and I do enough mental gymnastics at work to stay sharp.

One thing you can do to stay sharp is to stay out of all these cop did this or that threads that seem to be magnets for experts on law enforcement.

Take fish oil  it seems to help me. Do math in your head.  Read.

I come to GD and try to figure out if Melvinator 2k0 or O_P have authored the post I'm currently reading.

I have also been out of college for a while (7 years).
My job keeps me as sharp as I'll ever wish to be. Drafting is a speed oriented profession.

It is my main goal to tranfer sketches and ideas into legal documented drawings as fast and accurate as possible.

I don't plan on getting rich doing it but I do make a living.

This is good too, I have several chess programs to spare against.

I will say, Fritz will kick your ass even on the lower settings unless you are a very good player.

neurobics are pretty cool

neural aerobics - get it???

simple things like- learn to use chopsticks.

eat with your 'other' hand - your non-dominate hand

learn a new language- actually you get the same benefits, just by attempting to learn a new language.

chess is another great one.

Read spam emails.

If the girl scout related to the cloud formation dances with a demon defined by the salad dressing, then the earring ceases to exist. A rattlesnake toward a hole puncher ridiculously is a big fan of the nation beyond an eggplant.

The polygon sanitizes a pit viper. Another globule is Alaskan.  A crank case toward a hockey player feverishly throws a mating ritual at some cheese wheel.

4 suit Spider Solitaire.

I have to win one game every day.

It is exactly what you are looking for and probably is already on your computer.

You may want to start with one or two suit first though before four.

Exercise regularly- keeps the circulatory system more responsive.  Helps with the mind and- alot of impotence issues are due to decreased circulatory system ability.

Drink rarely, if at all-  I really think more than a single drink a day is bad for you.

Do something different to keep the mind stimulated- learn a new skill, or sign up for the company volleyball team. Anything to put your mind in an unfamiliar state.
