I WISH it were 43 here. My heat pump died on me, and it's going to hit 93 today with about 80-90% humidity. Thank God for ceiling fans and box fans. I have no idea how people could stand to live in the deep south before AC was invented. |
I can tell you. My brother used to live there and had a house built before the civil war. It had high ceilings and porches.. he rarely used the AC, just a few window fans usually kept it comfortable. Essayons |

I'm in East Texas and it is 80+ with an expected high of 94 today. I was in the Idaho panhandle last week and it (lightly) snowed on us one day, it sleeted one day, and it ranged in temps from the mid 30's in the high mountains to the mid 50's in the town (St. Regis, Mont.)and it was awesome. |
where are you on the Island? I know some folks in Great Neck and Muttontown. BTW, 84 here at 12:30...supposed to hit 90, but the humidity is managable @ 58%. Although, if I'm not mistaken, I thought this was another "code orange" day. |
