O.K. Honda technicians, how difficult is an alternator change on a 1998 Honda Accord EX w/V-6. What's the going rate for a shop to charge? Thanks!

I would venture to say about 2 hours at $65.00 an hour or so.

When do you want me to do it?

1. Not hard.

2. They will charge you a few hundred probably.

If you have hand tools and a manual do it yourself.

Usually Alts are one of the easiest things to replace but I but that Honda is a bit tougher then most.

I have a 90 accord and had a 95 accord and even the simple things take twice as long to replace on these cars.

Of course things don't need to be replaced as much so choose your poison.
