I just finished Michener's Poland so it was with particular interest I saw in the paper where Putin swung by to lay a wreath for heroes of the Polish resistance. Can anyone catch us up on recent events: thoughts, insights, and lessons past, present, future?

"The Polish Liutenant" by Alan Furst might be another novel you could pick up. It concerns an officer in the Home Army who became a spy for the Allies after Warsaw fell. He spent the next six years fighting the Nazi's only to see them replaced by the Soviets and their Polish Quislings.
