I have tried to like it, I have friends who do who'll get PPV and have parties, and despite an almost super-hero-like capability for suspension or disbelief, I just can't do it. It's soooo fucking stupid.

The truth of it is its "Entertainment"
Yes, its fully scripted, and in that respect, "Fake" Punches are pulled, slams are setup, because they are putting on a show, however wrestlers get seriously messed up and have died doing it. But they still are incredibly talented athletes/performers/actors/whatever-you-wanna-call-em and they do things that would kill your average person. Also, most are huge beasts that would actually throw a real fighter/boxer/mma guy across a room. 6'6" 350 pounds isn't something you could fight on the street, even if they have no idea how to throw a real punch. |

This is as bad as when I went to watch The Lion King on Broadway! The lions weren't even real! You could even see a guy wearing a lion costume in it. I'll never recover from that. Also, WWE has literal wizards doing magic, and murder, and kidnapping, and necromancers, and... wait, is that all fake too?! Is it just live staged entertainment?! Say it ain't so! (I don't actually watch it, but I don't really care if other people do, and I see why they would.) |

There's a local wrestling show hosted at a climate controlled self storage place in my home town in Georgia. My buddies and I used to pound beers and go. It's three hours of not stop laughs. Best $10 you ever spent!

My roommate watches, conservatively, 20 hours of WWE programming per week, in addition to listening to several WWE-centric podcasts and radio programs. I have never really understood the fascination. He's tried to get me to watch with him, but I find the whole thing a little cringey. Last year homeboy spent $400 on a replica WWE Heavyweight Champion belt.
