I had a pair of Browning Sporting goods boots, the seams came unsown, I noticed they were made in china!

So I went to the Army navy store to get a boot aproxamately the same design, Gore tex, and Water proof, the danner were too expensive so they led me out of the civilian boot section to their Army Surplus section and they had the newest "Brown Rough out leather combat boots" by matterhorn !

Thes are the boots that will be issued with the "ACU" BTW, man are they comfortable, it's like wearing very high top sneakers!!!

Traction is good on all surfaces i have walked on (except sawdust on a Polished concrete floor!) But then again nothign works on that!)

No "Break-in" required, I've worn them for three days and no hotspots or blisters from "break-in"!

And they were $40 less than the simular "Danner" design!!

I love these things!!

BTW, they are an Odd brown color about halfway between coyote brown and Earth brown!

Did you ever think of ending your sentences with something other than an exclamation point?

Matterhorn 8" Combat Boot is all it is labeled as.

These are made right here in Pennsylvania, about 70 miles from where i live.

Thye look like a brown version of the Black belleville's the troops are issued now, except the rough side of leather is outward and the rest of the upper is Codura nylon.

Look at "www.bobsarmynavy.com" they might have them on their website.

Belleville, Matterhorn, same boot basically.

Danner looks the same but is a superior boot.

I will have to check those bad boys out.  So far the best pair of boots I've ever worn are the 5.11 ATAC 8" tactical boots.  Zippered sides, laced front and light as a pair of sneakers.

The bellevilles and Matterhorns just LOOK ALIKE, because thats the design the military wants now!

But i looked at the bellevilles my brother Is issued, the inside is Denim fabric!

These materhorns have nice soft insoles and the same lining as the Danners or other sporting boots.

Go www.coveshoe.com look under military footear for the model 3000, boot.

It is the only Brown Fleshout that is darker than the desert ones they list, probably twice as dark as the Desert boots they make. It just listed as "8" Fleshout Combat Boot"
