The programers utterly fail at Memorial Day. They are airing a Monster Quest marathon. Utter garbage. I guess today is the last straw for me watching the History Channel.

Write them, and suggest they change the name to Monster Channel.

Saturday was not Memorial day. Frankly this whole weekends programing should have been devoted to all those who gave their lives to keep our country free.

I did email them and informed them of their falilure.

Wow. I would have expected at least one war related program for Memorial Day. I guess that wouldn't fit with their "Missing Link" show tonight, though.

Anyway, they can run what they want whenever they want. We don't have to watch it. I won't be.

They run the series on weekend mornings every few months or so.

Years ago, not long after the History Channel started and when I was more naive, I remember being so disappointed when I realized that the History Channel used fake sound effects and randomly edited scenes from old movies their "documentaries".

It seems that every time I turn on the history channel there's some dick chopping down trees.  And the National Geographic channel should just go ahead and change their name to The Dog Whisperrer channel.

I liked it better as The Hitler Channel.

At least that was nominally 'historical'.

Now it's all funny camera angles of rubber toy creatures.

I was hoping something good on History, too.  I just started watching my own movies.

Right now, it's "The Great Escape" and either 12 O'Clock High or Patton will be next.

History Channel has recently went to hell. Gone are the days when terrific programs like Mail Call, Dogfights and Shootouts frequently aired. They have been replaced by a bunch of retarded UFO and "end of the world" doom bullshit. Then there is that Ice Road Truckers show. What the hell does that have to do with history? THC needs to pull their head out of their ass and get back to actual history.

WTF is "historical" about any of this garbage?

Yeah, I'm feeling a little ripped off lately.

I really don't care about Bigfoot or UFOs. Don't give much of a shit about 3/4ths the shit they run anymore.

Discovery fucked themselves by splitting into 87 different channels. They barely had enough good content for one channel.

Yeah, I saw that want was like "WTF? how is this history???"

Sure, its kind of interesting to think what would happen to our infrastructure if we just abandoned it: how long would our achievements last as compared to previous civilizations?  As a child I often wondered about it.

Is it realistic?  No, I have a hard time imagining any disaster that would make us disappear and would not destroy most of what we have built and cause the extinction of a good portion of all other living things on earth.

Not to mention some of the moonbats they have on there saying "the best thing that could happen to the earth would be if people were to disappear" with big ass smiles and crazy looks in their eyes, are downright fucktards.
