Could someone tell me why I can't hook my dvd player directly to my tv and it play a movie ? Do I need to buy a RF modulator. I have a sharp aquos - new plasma tv. You would think I could just hook it up with the rca cables- but when I do - nothing is what happens. I can hook a game system directly up with no problems. Anyone have any answers ? I'm going to assume that you are selecting the correct AV channel via the remote? ETA: Mine has to be set to "AV" for RCA leads... Sat+ is set to "EXT 1"......The surround / DVD is set to "EXT 2".... My Philips Plasma has about 7 AV's, some with sub settings...  I really struggled to get all my Sat / DVD / Multiplayer / Console connected at the same time as it doesn't auto switch when each is activated
