Help prioritize a list of accessories or upgrades for a plain old AR15 rifle
Figure you can only budget $200-300 at a time for upgrades
I assume ammo would be 1st

Spend it on ammo, forget all that other shit with the possible exception of optics.

$300 won't even get you the entry fee to any reputable carbine course, much less half the ammo req'd for the course.

I'd go Vortex Strikefire with a mount and spend the balance on good mags and ammo.

After that go for a new Colt bolt and a good trigger.

A descent optic, BUIS if a flattop AR, and a bi-pod makes a helluva difference

$200 to $300 including ammo?

OK assume $300

250 rounds of Aguila ammo from Aim Surplus $80

10 black Teflon mags with Magpul followers $85 Primary Arms

TRS25 optic and lower 1/3 mount $80 Primary Arms

Used Surefire G2 and a scope ring off the EE, should be able to get both for $40 or less, and add a drop in LED unit for another $20 or less

That's about $300. You should be able to grab a decent sling for under $20 as well.

Go Shoot the Gun!

Love him or hate him, he is right on about 99% of the stuff he opines on.

Ammo isnt an accessory, it's a necessity.

4 functioning mags $35
Sling - $40
Weapon Light - $100
Red dot/scope - $150

I would add one more magazine, two double magazine pouches and something to carry them on like a belt.
