[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Help!!!!

My computer is freaking out. The monitor goes black and the motherboard starts beeping.
Reset doesn't work. If I turn it of and let it sit for 5 minutes or so it will boot up again.
I did a system restore to yesterday and I'm posting now.
I know the beeping from the MB means something but I have no idea what.
No new programs installed, recent scan for malware,etc.
Any suggestions?

Count the number of beeps and find out what they mean on the MB manufacturers website.

Well.it's been working normal since I did the restore. If It's still running tomorrow I'll check their website.

take the case off and make sure the fans are clean of dust.

make sure they are spinning as well

I did that 2 days ago..took the fan off the processor, vacuumed all the dust off the cooling fins and the fan in the power supply. Figures it would act up after I did it..*sigh*

wait... are you saying it was fine before you removed the processor fan, but it broke after doing so?

Well sort of. It was almost 2 days before it freaked out..and it hasn't done it since I did the restore..
