Region is southwest Ohio. It always hides under the plastic downspout splash. Maybe 12-18" long.

DeKay's. Catch it and keep it in a terrarium. Feed it earthworms. Great for kids. Release after amusement wains.

My daughter caught one in our creek a couple months back. Neat little fellow. My wife reeeeaaaaallllly wanted to keep him, but not legal in GA to keep native non-venomous snakes.
