Looks like an R44 went down in my area and took its 3 occupants with it. Not too many more details yet.

I don't know about down there, but up here in DFW we've had a lot of low clouds and fog the last few mornings. I wonder if weather was a factor.

Yeah I was going to say something about that too. Generic helo is generic.

R44's rotor discs are pretty light (therefore don't conserve large amounts of energy), and I imagine autorotation in one of them fully loaded is pretty fucking horrifying. I'm sure a helo pilot could chime in on the difficulty of managing energy in such a small helo on an emergency descent.
