I travel for a living and in 6 years of doing so this might be the first time that in staying in a hotel that I am actually afraid for my own health, vehicle and general well being. Think I am getting sick already from the mold in the carpets that got flooded up here in Bossier City. That and there is just that general feeling that the elements staying in the hotel with me that should I look at them wrong I could get myself in trouble. And I have already removed all valuables from my car and placed them else where so there is no temptation for anything to get stolen. Thank god its only for 3 days then back to my normal hotel which isnt all that better but there at least I dont feel like I have to watch myself, my car or my stuff like a hawk.

| whooops....I live in Texas but I am working in Bossier City/Shreveport LA area currently. Travel is a must in Oil and Gas exploration and in 6 years I actually feel uneasy about where I am staying...and I have stayed in some serious shit holes even had the police do a sting in one of the motels in the room next to me for a guy who wanted to contract kill on his wife. |

Staying at hotels/motels in less than nice neighborhoods is exactly why I obtained my carry permit. |

Dont remember seeing anything in the Citizenship manual that said that to be an American I have to stay in a Motel shithole...guess I didnt get the "Bienvenidos a los Estados Unidos de America" version on my way in the door

I stay, and eat where i want on the company card and reimburse the extra to the company in my monthly expense report. |
| company card? per diem? expense report? Think I'm in the wrong part of the Oil and Gas world. As an Independent contractor I pay it all out of pocket and write it off at the end of the year, so I try to conserve as much as possible and put money away for the fun stuff. I dig my own grave so to speak...just stating that this place is a shithole. |
