I do, at least when they get on the ballot in NY, which is rare in the last 2 elections

First the goverment pumps billions of OUR tax dollars into Israel and Saudi Arabia, and now they are giving it to the illegal mexicans that shit on our country!

Both parties have been banging America in the ass for years. We have no real alternative as there's no 3rd Party with any sort of strength. Except for gun issues, I'm tempted to just quit voting.
Link Posted: 12/13/2003 5:36:50 PM EDT
Vote guns only, or whatever you want. This country will go nowhere without D's and R's coming to some middle ground, and because they don't, they piss off potential voters.
Link Posted: 12/13/2003 6:20:59 PM EDT
The Libertarian Party remains the only party (major or minor) that has put full support for 2nd Amendment rights on their platform. Yeah, I vote Libertarian.
Link Posted: 12/13/2003 6:42:48 PM EDT
Check out The Liberty Committee There is some hope out there, now if we can get them to start another party.....
Link Posted: 12/13/2003 6:55:21 PM EDT
I'm all for having a third major party, but I dont' have the millions of dollars its going to take to start one.
Link Posted: 12/13/2003 7:33:42 PM EDT
THere needs to be a true conservative party. We need to start one because the Republicans are like Democrats of 30 years ago. Someone mentioned the Liberitarians ... you mean Losertarians don't you? Don't even waste a vote on these fucks as voting for them is like voting for the Democrats! We need to get the conservitave back into the Republican Party. Or is it too late?

I am hoping that when Karl Rove gets done marginalizing the Democrats by having the Bush administration champion all of their causes enough people in this country (the RED states) are pissed off and a third party becomes viable. I have got to admit the current Republican strategy has me worried, perplexed, and incensed. I think, at least in the short run we are really fucked! Six months ago I was pretty sure the AWB would go away, but you can bet your ass, if Bush can use it to get the soccer mom vote, he will, after all, his dad used the same tactic, remember him tearing up his NRA membership card???

Yup. And remember what happened to Pops. He lost. Apparently Junior didn't learn much from that. I will probably not vote for GW next year but am undecided as to what to do. One thing is for absolute certainty: If he signs a renewal of the AW ban I am done voting for republicans, period. I agree with the rest of you. I am extremely disillusioned with the republican party and my gov't in general.

I and many others have often said "vote republican, and pro gun". And many of the same said "vote republican, and anti big government". But it's sad to say that much of that is nothing but talk. On a local level, I will vote republican only if they are strong 2nd. As far as the presidential race? If GW makes supporting the AWB an election issue, I will either vote for a third party, or not vote at all. Is a third party really impossible? And what exactly is wrong with the Libertarian party anyway? Is it just because of their stance on the war on drugs? Hell that has been a failure anyway..........

Yadda, yadda, yadda... Eric the (I'mTheBiggestApologistForTheRepublicanParty)Hun strikes again... Guess what buddy, the "good men" I helped elect, believing they would do something to forestall the death of LIBERTY, ARE doing nothing... These men are in the best position to make a difference and they A) Passed campaign finance reform violating the 1st Amendment! B) Have stated openly that they support the further, institutionalized infringement on my RKBA! C) Now want to give MY MONEY to illegal assholes who go back to their own country! If we had generals who acted like this in WW2 we might be singing the Horst Wessel song right now. Could you imagine Patton saying "Ah fuck it, we'll never make it to the Ardennes in time?" I usually find myself agreeing with your comments, but your rabid defense of the indefenseable makes me sick. Its been said here before, with conservatives like this, who needs liberals!

Oh yeah we would be so much better off with al (I invented the internet so I could federalize it) gore.[rolleyes] Sheesh people with gore (or any other dumpocrat) would we have so many posts on "The End or Revival of the AWB"? NO, cause it would have been a done deal by now! edited for spellin 223spree

Ah hell, I can piss and moan about anything![:P]
If this is how you act in a green season, what will y'all be like in a dry season?

Well armed and pissed off.
Remember, the only thing that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. The only other thing that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do something stupid!
View Quote
Agreed
Like talk of voting against REPUBLICANS simply because President Bush might do something stupid! So what? There are other dedicated pro-RKBA Republicans out there who need our support, and cutting them off simply because President Bush was trying to stack the Electoral deck with votes doesn't make good sense! We have a party apparatus right now - it's called the Republican Party!
View Quote
And they are betraying their constituency and the nation right now. I sure as hell didn't vote loyally for the past 25 years only to have them finally gain power and turn their back on the things they claimed to stand for. It takes more than just the President to ram this crap down our throats. "Don't piss down my neck and tell me it's raining" Eric.
But you folks would rather start from scratch on some new-fangled party that couldn't possibly be up and running for, what? Ten years or so?
View Quote
Yup
The Libertarian Party has been around since at least the 1970s, and they have yet to elect anything better than a local dog-catcher! They have never elected even so much as a single Congresscritter!
View Quote
They might now!
And a single Congresscritter couldn't do squat to stem the tide of socialism and gun control!
View Quote
Nope. Neither has the entire Republican Party.
The answer is to take over the Republican Party to the same extent and depth as the liberals and left wing fanatics have taken over the DEMOC-rat Party!
View Quote
I guess we thought it WAS OUR party. Now we find out differently.
That means getting your azzes off the sofas and actually doing something creative, effective, and profitable for once in your addle-brained lives!
View Quote
Like maybe working my damn ass off and paying taxes up the ass??! Only to have the .gov throw my money to a bunch of losers, fail to protect the nation's borders and work against my best interest. Maybe that's what you are talking about??
But maybe you really would rather be slogging through the trenches fighting some internecine civil war than acting like smart folks!
View Quote
I think you've got a little different idea of how to fight than I do[:D] Your way is dommed to failure. Actually I would say that both your ways are doomed to failure although I will grant you that via the political process there is faint hope. Provided the politicians listen and then provided that liberal courts don't simply come along behind and declare it all unconstitutional...
Simply showing up at a bunch of Republican organizational meetings at the county level could easily keep the 'slogging through the trenches' scenario from ever even occurring!

baaaaaaaa!
But y'all are hopeless romantics, right? Who would rather die in a hail of bullets, rather than waste time trying to solve the problem politically!
View Quote
No, I just want to solve the problem. I simply don't see your way as being very effective. Not that I don't want it to succeed, I have alot to lose. However, the direction we are heading makes the continuation of a free society untenable.
Please remember to remind us all that, come the Revolution, y'all should not be given positions of leadership!

Okay. Don't want one. By your standards, though, I guess the founding fathers were not fit to hold office...
