I can buy a 02 Deuce. With 1750 original miles for 6200. Does have the usual extras.
Or 08 Dyna fat Bob with 14,000 for 6000. Same extra.. Wich one should I buy? I have owned a 1200 Sportster Evo 02 Dyna wide glide 83 low ride 01 Softail standard |
| No question get the 2002. It still has carburetor, less emissions crap and most importantly was the last year of the "good" crankshaft. 2003 and later are notorious for crankshafts that shift if you hotrod or modify the motor for performance. 87% of harleys are heavily modified. Harley Tech Talk dot com is an excellent source of info. Ask the question there and then make your choice. Enjoy. |

I ride pretty spirited sometimes so I would probably lean towards the dyna because you can do a lot with them. Doesn't hurt that I really like the look of the fat bob.
Looks like you've owned and ridden similar bikes. Both those deals look pretty solid. If that fat bob was local I'd be tempted to pick it up for my hot rod I'm building in my brain. |

The lines on the Duece looks good sitting still. The Fat Bob is a more practical ride and handles better.
Guess it depends on what you want. I'd be suspect of the internals on a 02 that hasn't been ridden. Expect potential internal engine corrosion and to replace all seals, lines, brake lines etc. |
