Recently (well...more than that, I suppose) it's occurred to me that Harleys are a much maligned motorcycle here. Old tech, slow, unreliable, blah, blah, blah. We've heard them all and if you own one, you probably don't give a shit. But the thing is, I know there are TONS of guys here who must own them, but they never really show them off because they're tired of the bullshit - kind of like a Californian who hides his location in his profile (or stays out of GD entirely), because he's tired of getting shit for it.

So you know what we need? A thread that's nothing but member Harleys. Special Construction bikes with American air-cooled 45deg V-twins are more than welcome as well. Hell, they're encouraged.

I'll have some newer pics as soon as the builder sends them to me (had a bunch of work done), but for now - here's mine:

I want Harley pics, arfcom!

Since my hard drive crashed, I don't have any current pics. I'll have to get some done tomorrow. But here is a close facsimile until I do. This doesn't have enough chrome, though.

Here's a pic of the two Harleys I've owned. I gave up motorcycles about 4 years ago and bought a convertible.

Here's a pic of the convertible. I don't own it anymore either. I miss it way more than the motorcycles.

Thanks, my latest baby is an '07 FireFighter Limited Edition Road King. 96 CuIn., 6 speed, custom bars, full chrome front end. The dealer made it a demo by replacing all of the floorboards, grips, etc with the chrome and black rubber flame; looks freakin' sweet. I put on the flame embossed heat sheilds and upper fork cans, bars and front end.

My friend that owns this bike is tough as nails. Two tours in Nam....... and he's retired now. He has a 2000 Harley Deuce that he bought new and it now has 125,000 miles on it. He and a buddy stopped by to visit me last month during an 8 week ride around the US. They started out in SC and went north to the Great Lakes. Then they cut west and went to Washington state. Then down the west coast Oregon and California to LA, and then over to Colorado. Then they went south to New Mexico and then over to Texas to visit me. And then to New Orleans, and then back to SC. The total trip was 8500 miles. Amazing!

My Honda 650 Nighthawk use to do that "Mark its spot", the one below has never leaked a spot unless I was removing a drain plug to change fluids. LMAO
I now have the bike I have always wanted and I guess you could say it is a special construction since they only made 1301 Road Kings in 2003 like this.

Not a Special Construction. If it was the title on the bike would say so, instead of Harley Davidson.

A special construction is a bike made by somebody other than a licensed manufacturer (aftermarket frame, etc). When it's done this way, the title actually says "Special Construction".

not sure if I have any pics uploaded of my Sportster, but here's a couple of my FXDL. whatever I've got uploaded to the photobucket account.Twenty-something thousand miles so far on an '08. I work 50 + hours a week and it snows here bout 6 months a year. You know how those "Harley guys" are all costumes and don't even ride shit, the first year I started riding, I put 18,600+ miles on my first bike, an 883. Rode that sucker from Fort Kent and Calais to North Carolina and Tennessee.

Pennsylvania

Acadia

West Virginia

Western Maine, that's Sugarloaf Mountain and the Bigelow Range about 50 miles to the West.

A couple from the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains

Under the New River Gorge Bridge

Devil's Den at Gettysburg PA

Highland Scenic Parkway on a not so scenic day

Seneca Rocks

my backyard

near the Penobscot River

The White Mountains in New Hampshire, from Vermont

Western Maine

Camden Hills this Spring, ice still on the lake, that's my snowmobile helmet, probably mid 40's Fehrenheit. Boy, air-cooleds run great in cold weather

West Virginia

W.V.

ok, this one wasn't a harley.

It's an illness. I'm know to pull into the yard, home from the Blue Ridge Parkway or a several thousand mile ride, and pull right back out to go gas up without even putting my feet down.

Here's my 2003 Fatboy in Vivid Black. Sold it last year, so I can save for a touring bike. I want a Street Glide in flat black, with old school hot rod scallops on it.

It had 15,000 + miles on it, ridden in all kinds of weather & it looked like this when I sold it. A lot of extra chrome that was a PIA to keep clean, but it got the looks & a lot of attention.

For some reason or another no one ever liked riding behind me to the right in staggered formation.
