I just happened to catch this hand last night on Youtube.
Big time cooler ....... nothing you can do, but this had to sting.

LOL. You're going to fold Aces full with a flush draw on the board at the WSOP because you know she has quads? Sure.

Only one ace is showing and the 4 wasn't a club so only quad 7's beats her.  Early main event or not, folding top full house in fear of quads isn't exactly SOP.

Bauman could have also had a flush or straight. Very few people will bluff two aces showing. Put that together with the cards on the board, and Selbst should have seen something coming that beats three of a kind.

Deleted.

She took it better than most I'd wager. Helmuth would still be standing their whining about how his opponent doesn't know how to play.

Flop a set of aces, turn top boat.  Yep, going to go broke on that one if your opponent hits the one outer.

No one in the world would lay that hand down ever.

Bauman wouldn't be shoving a 50,000 stack on a bluff or with 2nd - 3rd nuts on day 1 when the blinds are around 75-150.
It was obvious to Selbst she had to have A7 or 77. Selbst put her on A7 and called. Oh well shit happens. Especially in poker.

She's also 1 of the most despised players. She's very rude at the table. I was surprised she was cordial. Must have been because she was playing at the TV table.
Actually couldn't have happened to a better person.

I think she's like alot of celebrity poker players. If you haven't been on "Poker Night in America" you're a donkey to be ridiculed.

I've got a buddy who was on Poker night in America. He made no wrong moves and ended up getting coolered much like this hand. The commentators did nothing but ridicule him the entire time because he was a "drunk redneck". Was he drunk? I'm sure. He lives his life drunk. Doesn't changed the fact that he was good enough to be at that table.

Put me in the idiot camp too. I didn't fold my AA when the flop came AKK, my opponent had KK. At least I didn't lose 10K because of it.

Reminds me of the hand a few years ago with the AAAA vs the Royal Flush.

That dude was an idiot. I linked to the video above. He hit running straight flush cards on the turn and river with KQd after his opponent flopped a set of aces. Either that or the guy with aces really screwed the pooch. They only showed the conclusion of the hand so I don't know how it was played.

Aces full, I would be all-in every time. There is just not a statistically probable beat. Obviously a blind pig finds an acorn every now and then, but poker is a game of odds, and making it far in the WSOP means winning all of the gimmes, most all of the toss ups, and (this is hard one) a majority of the long shots.

I won right at $5K in Biloxi on a very similar hand. I ended up with aces full of tens and the other guy had quad tens. we keep raising each other back. it qualified for a mini bad beat so we split almost $10K. i got the bulk as the one that got bad beat. he got a couple thousand and the rest of the table got the rest chopped up.

If I was at the table, 'a Subaru?'
