My AC condenser unit just started making noise.  If I bump the unit, the noise will stop.  It is a 19 year old Trane XE 1000 unit and I don't want to replace the whole unit yet.

I am pretty handy at fixing things, is there a part I can replace to fix it?

ETA: The fan is moving full speed, the camera was just not able to capture it.

Does it seem like the noise is coming from the fan, if so might be motor bearing

Vibration is a bitch. Move the unit until the noise stops. It has just vibrated enough to put the cabinet in a bind. It happens all the time.

My thought as well, tough to hear clearly on the vid.

Could also be a worn rain shield on the condenser fan motor.

Most likely motor/shield wouldn't change pitch when he touched unit.

Thanks, I bumped it a few times and it stopped.  Hasn't come back yet.

It looks like the fan isn't spinning fast enough. Check the set screw that attaches the fan to the motor or it is a optical illusion.
ETA: just noticed the ETA

Just an optical illusion.  For some reason the fan speed would not record on the video.

Do you have any children?  Make them stand outside in shifts and smack the air conditioner.  Problem solved.
