LOL at the guys in tech who argued with me that barrel profile doesn’t matter. And holy shit. The gun was so hot it was burning the wood he rested the rifle on. Thought it might be just the gun smoking but you can see where the wood started fire on the handguard. Even the lower looks to have burned the wood at the 15:15 mark. |

Believe it or not there was a time when HBAR’s were far and away the most common and preferred barrel profile. |

Yes I was waiting for this video! In addition to beefing up the barrel they also added a much thicker gas tube. As for the barrel, though, it seems that it is pretty heavy. I wonder how much thicker/heavier it is compared to the Colt SOCOM barrel, as that barrel in its 14.5” length is not bad at all weight wise. The G barrel, however, seems pretty damn chonky. ETA: By the way, the G upper went 1633 rounds before failure. That is impressive, but that that appears to be one heavy ass 16” barrel. So, of course it was gonna take a pounding. I would love to see Geisselle make a 14.5” SOCOM barrel. Now, that would be something that would wanna make me buy a G upper. |

Crazy how hot that thing had to be, wish they'd had an IR thermometer to see what the parts were reading; I'm surprised he didn't have on heavier gloves. Geissele definitely makes a great product. |
