I haven't tried this myself to verify this, but I did read it on HKPRO.com.  During the ban, I did use .40 mags in my USPc 9mm and it fit and functioned 100% and I got 12+1.  Word is that a 12-round no-ban .40 compact mag will fit and function with a 9mm compact and will give you 15+1 capacity.

For you 228 owners, I have tried this and it works:  If you take the follower out of a 10 round 228 mag and install it in a no-ban 228 mag, it will increase the mag's capacity to 15 rounds.  This I can verify from personal experience.

Anybody else know of any mag tricks?

.40 cal glock mags work in 9 millies

For example,  using a 10-rnd Glock 23 mag in a glock 19 gives you I think 13 rounds. Maybe 14?

anyone verify this on the HK? I've got a uspc9 and if I can get 15 rounds as opposed to 13 well then great.... also... would it extend any farther than the standard mags? I like to use the mags with the finger extension on the bottom so I can hang on to the little devil easier... do the 12 rd .40s have the extended floorplate or standard? thanks

I can verify that a .40 10 rounder in my usp9c got 12+1.  Can't verfify the 12 would get 15.

You guys be careful about cramming too many rounds into a magazine. Just because the standard Beretta 92 mag "can" (and it can if you shave the follower) hold 17rd. is not the same thing as leaving it loaded for months or maybe years with an overload. That will fatigue the spring quickly and lead to premature failure of the mag to feed. Now, on the other hand, if you don't leave them loaded to capacity for months, it may not be an issue.

SIG P229 .40 caliber hicaps hold 12 rounds of .40, and hold 15 rounds of 9mm. They are supposed to be interchangable with P228 magazines, so one could probably get the flush-fit 229 magazines for their 9mm P228 and carry 15 rounds.
