Is there a Program or utility that I could use to automatically intermittently check the broadband speeds on my connection?

I live out in the country and have a poor service provider. I am paying top dollar for service that is supposed to supply 3 Mbps  but is hit or miss at best.

I have called the provider probably 20 times to get them to check it.s. But... Honestly how much can you expect from a small service provider that can't

even get their website right.

In a situation like this, hard data rules. I am tired of paying for service over the past decade that I'm not getting. I want to ping the network and chart the speed across time. I will prorate my payment according to their delivery of service. I want to actually pay for what I get.

For those folks that think "well, they paid for the line to get run to your house", you can stop here. I paid them to run the line out to my house. It wasn't cheap...

Thanks!

So, I know what my speeds are when I sit down to my computer.

I would like something that would run the speed test every hour without be having to do it manually. That way I could trend the broadband connection speed over time.

The reason for this is that I don't want the company to say "it was working great all week".

Actually, No, FPDNNI. speedtest.com wont do what OP is asking for, since he wants an automatic method to check the speed at regular intervals.
