Anyone have any experience with a Liberty Centurion?

a shop locally has them on sale (23CuFt for ~$800) and I was looking at getting one.

Just wanted to see if there was any experience with them.

Thanks!

Thats the safe they break into on the video on Youtube in less than 2 minutes.
I've seen them open with crow bars less then 20 minutes(time it took cops to get there after the alarm went off).

For under $800 there are alot better safes out there. Take a look at Dakota, cannon, summit, amsec, champion.

I have been working at a safe store for over 8 years. What liberty puts out now is just junk. About the only thing they have going for them anymore is there paint job, and quick shipping.

its OK at best. i have one. its definitely not the greatest if you are keeping real valuables. it will keep your average burglar out.
also, the break in video, you have to have the safe on the floor and put all your body weight to pry it. if you bolt it to the ground so it cant be tipped over, you should be ok.
also, i was told from a friend who has broken into many safes, none are "safe". the difference is breaking in within 2 min or 7 min.
really, a graffunder is great, but who has $7G's to spend on a small safe.
i say, buy what you can afford because ultimately, it will slow someone..not necessarily stop them.
hope that helps

Big R Ranch Supply stores recently had the 23 cf model Liberty Centurion for $550.  I wound up getting the 31 cf model for about $800.  I'm happy with mine, as said above, it will deter the average smash n' grab burglar, and it's better than no safe at all!  The price you mention is way high for that size, IMO.

It's cheap.  Spend the extra few hundred on a better model.  Liberty makes great safes, unfortunately the Centurion line does not qualify as one of them.  For a cheap, but good quality safe, look at the Champion Trophy line.  Not as good fire protection as the Liberty's, but the security is much better.

ETA:  That price is also way too high.  If you DO get that model, you should be able to find one for ~$600

Thanks for the info

I found another source in town, with them for $699 (NOT on sale)

Just wanted to see if this was a good deal, and I see that it is not.

Thanks!
