Some custom cases, tacticals of all lengths, but not 1 for each.

Yes, so long as you include soft cases along with hard cases.

I store my rifles it's own case complete with extra mags, pouches, sling, bayonet, cleaning kit, etc. Pretty much everything needed for that gun except for ammo. Except for a couple, all are stored well oiled and would need to be cleaned and lubed before use.

Shotguns and handguns are stored in cases or the boxes they came in and hold a few extra mags or whatever stuff goes to it.

I've been doing it this way for 15 or more years without problem. The coating oil is long term storage oil from Texaco and dries tacky.

Anyone had any issues keeping firearms in soft or hard cases that aren't air tight? Last time I did that I noticed slight pitting on the barrel after leaving it in the case for a few weeks.

No. Everything in a safe. I never have taken more than 4 guns to a shoot so I dont need all those cases.

All my firearms stay in locked hard cases when I'm not home.

But then, I've only got one firearm.

I bought mine on eBay from some folks at Youngs Hunting and Sporting Goods

Just type in Pelican and search their store.  I price compared with other sellers at the time I bought mine and they gave me the best deal.

No problem it looks like Sail-tech has cheaper shipping at the moment.  They are in a constant battle of one-up man ship to sell cheaper Pelican cases, also these cases are friggin' badass and robust!  I am going to have nothing but Pelicans for my guns.

Damn, those things are expensive!

I was thinking more along the lines of like $30-60 for a hard case?

Your answer should be YES!

Just in case you need to relocate quickly you'll be able to pack all your guns safely in your vehicle. At least have the ability to case the majority of them.

I used to have a case for every gun.....I think I had 10 guns at that time.....
I have sold a few...traded a few....guns and cases so that I became low on cases. I would recommend buying a few double rifle cases or even two sided double rifle cases that allow the carry of 4 long guns in one case. The double single sides are easier to manage though and less heavy!

I have a pelican case for my two most prized guns. The rest I have mostly plastic factory Bushmaster, AR type Rifle cases (about 3or4) and about 6 or 7 soft cases. I have two double rifle cases and one single hard sniper case.

I can case the majority of my guns with what I have. I should really pick up a few extra's though.

So.....should I get a good sized trailer, too?? If I want to sit inside the truck, it might help....

The answer should be....YES! Get a large enough trailer or even an RV to be able to haul everything you don't want to leave behind. Some people have a BOB and two longs and two pistols they plan to take just in case the SHTF....Some people live in an area where it may be possible to load up a good amount of stuff and head to the mountains....  to each his own ...
I rather take what I can ....Then take just enough to get buy and leave everything else for the looters.
Now if your one of those guys that has 200 guns....first of all "You are my hero!" but your screwed in that case! Good luck!

And to add to my answer...I don't know how many guns you all have. If you have over 40-50 guns I'm going to say that having a case for each one might not be cost effective or feasible unless you have the money and space. A friend of mine has over 100 guns.....in the event he had to grab and go he would be leaving about $80 to $120,000 worth of guns in his safe. Hope the insurance policy is a good one!
