I know that we've done this in the past, but like 'mall ninjas' gun show whacko sightings are always funny.

My personal favorites are the guys who don their best foreign camo, elite unit insignia, English officer's shoulder boards and then pack a FEG in an Uncle Mike's holster.

What are yours?

The guy who parachuted into Normandy on D-Day, got caught in a freak wind and drifted all the way to Oberndorf/Germany, where he wandered around the Mauser factory, and liberated a couple of crates with unissued K98s he just happens to have on sale on his table.

I like the guy that is carrying his evil black assualt rifle or AK around "looking for magazines" [rolleyes][rolleyes][rolleyes]

Then acts like a jerk when you ask him if it's for sale because you're probably the 63rd person to ask.

Most frequently heard lie:

"Our main customers are military spec ops and law enforcement".

Yeah, if all those guys who claim to be deep undercover special operations guys who parachuted into Laos and slit Ho Chi Mihn's throat really are special operations.

oh, god, if any of you get to the gun shows in michigan (mt. clements, taylor, birch run)
there is this guy who is the stereotypical gunshow type.  he is always wearing body armor, some odd impractical type of camo pattern, knee pads and uses the word "conspiracy" like punctuation.

I went to the show in Madison, WI a couple weeks ago. The biggest loser there was this big fat fuck with a bunch of nazi t-shirts for sale. The shirts said "hitler world tour" and had the dates and names of countries invaded. The guy also had some SAR-1 which is what I was at the show looking for. Douchbag wanted $475 for them.

I found another guy there who had the SAR-1's priced at $400, I offered him $700 for two of them, and he wouldn't take it.

I think that is going to be the last gun show I go to for a long time. I can get better deals through shotgun news or the EE here.

All of dealers who ask how much for my firearm, and then try to offer me half what I tell them!

Yeah, same thing happened to me on a mossberg at the last gun show.  WOuldn't come down twenty dollars, and we weren't anywhere near the bargain basement.  Oh well, that's alright, I'm sure he found someone to sell it to, can't fault folks for making a profit I suppose.  But, I haven't found a deal at a show in a LONG time.  I once had a guy with a table at a show tell me that you don't want to mount a bipod to anything but the barrel on the AR.  Ahuh, thanks for the info.

How about the dealer with the bored looking hottie trophy wife/girlfriend/rented escort  behind his table. Sometimes she's got a little dog with her. And the dealer, 30 years her senior, prices everything sky high 'cause he has to keep her in jewelry and nose candy.
Does get lotsa guys around the table "looking".

And how about the guy in cammies that buys a case of ammo as soon as he walks in the door and carries it on his shoulder for the next few hours? Ever hear of the hand-stamp for re-entry?

My best gun show story is this. I went to this gun show, not very many black rifles there, but a ton of 'junk guns' (Tec-9s,cobrays, tiny pistols, stuff like that) There is one dealer there who had okay selection, I'm looking at his table, he had a couple of Calico's, a USR, a few preban ARs and some other stuff. He has a used postban Bushmaster Bullpup, want's 900 for it and get this, "it's the exact same thing as the AUG, just in an American made stock so it's legal." Also acording to this guy all bullpup rifles are banned in the US since 1998.
